Alexander Sun – “Pines And Evergreens”

“Pines And Evergreens” is a delightful, shimmering rocker from Bristol-based act Alexander Sun. Formed in the winter of 2017, the band’s debut single “You Are Made of Magic” was released this May. They’re playing a series of dates across the UK this summer, with plans to record their debut album this autumn.

In regards to the track itself, “Pines And Evergreens” dazzles with a serene vocal presence and suave guitar twangs — with a dazed, psych-friendly allure throughout. The “on vacation in my mind,” bridge around the three-minute mark shows some enjoyable variation. It’s a very enjoyable track, through and through.

Per the band: “We made this record back in the Spring with the hombre Chris Ellul in his quaint studio in Bath, Somerset. It’s a homage to all the good times on the road, skating, surfing, sketching, and camping with ya mates. We hope you like it!”

“Pines And Evergreens” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock.
