The Brooklyn-based psych-soul duo Slow Riches formed in the summer of 2015. Per the band, “Aria” is one of two singles released in advance of their EP Vol II, now out and available to stream on Spotify. “Aria” grooves on thick bass and nocturnal synths to start, with wordless vocals lingering in the background. The vocals and several guitar licks expand in prominence toward the track’s conclusion. “Aria” is an atmospheric trip that shows Slow Riches’ forthcoming EP as certainly something to anticipate. “Tell Somebody Else” is another highlight, with the track title repeating from a suave vocal lead, as nighttime funk beats permeate with a twinkling allure. Both tracks succeed firmly.
