Assassin of Youth – “House Spiders”

//

“House Spiders” is an epic exhibit of gripping, developing songwriting. The seven-minute track grows from a quaint, folk-forward feel — with meek vocals and lush guitar shimmers — into a rocker brimming with expanding rhythms, enveloping guitars, and string-laden flourishes. Shoegaze-like textures and post-rock hypnotics are abound here. The ensuing conclusion is spine-chilling in its successful grandiosity. Assassin of Youth, the project of Brooklyn-based Sagiv Rosenstock, impresses thoroughly here — with Alex G’s brand of rock being a solid point of comparison. Steady guitar jangles help conclude “House Spiders,” a memorable accomplishment from Assassin of Youth.
