Coyote Mustache – “Canopy”

/

The newly released “Canopy” shows the bold pop sound of Coyote Mustache, the project of Los Angeles-based artist Phillip Yancey. Described by the artist stylistically as “ratchet pop,” “Canopy” starts with buzzing synths and clanging guitars. Subdued guitars accompany a mellow vocal lead shortly thereafter, with the “reaching for higher branches,” line signaling a perkier turn. From here on, the “headed for the canopy,” hook merges guitars, synths, and charismatic vocals for infectious success. “Canopy” is a fun success from Coyote Mustache.

“Canopy” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.
