Dave Thomas O’Gorman – “The Safety of Sleep”

//

“The Safety of Sleep” is a great piece of songwriting from Dave Thomas O’Gorman, a Paris-born artist based in Dublin, Ireland. The follow-up to O’Gorman’s first single “I See You Through The Slideshows,” “The Safety of Sleep” successfully aims to be a dreamy alt-rocker, achieving a very memorable mood in the two-minute runtime. Eerie guitars and quaint vocals start the procession, building toward a majestic chorus. There, around the 45-second mark, O’Gorman’s assume a more dramatic tone alongside a soaring, symphonic-like backing. Percussion becomes significnatly more involved thereafter, with the track’s mid-section doing excellently in showing the artist’s talents in vocal and instrumentation work. I’m definitely looking forward to future releases from Dave Thomas O’Gorman.

“The Safety of Sleep” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.
