Rain To Rust – “Drinking the Ghosts”

Fans of reverberating post-punk are likely to enjoy Flowers Of Doubt, the new album from Turkish artist Rain To Rust. The one-man band stars Mert Yildiz, who handles all instrumentation, vocals, and production. The album’s second track, “Drinking the Ghosts” consumes with shimmering guitars and bouncing bass to start, as husky vocals emerge with enjoyable precision. A quality point of comparison is to Twin Shadow, exuding a similar-sounding vein of nocturnal post-punk with fierce vocals and shimmering/moody guitar contrasts.

“Drinking the Ghosts” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Post-Punk.
