Sarah Schonert – “Not Swearing”

Sarah Schonert’s new album Songs About Sounds touts the Illinois-based artist’s heartfelt vocals and synth-driven direction. Inspired by the aesthetic confidence of artists like Kate Bush, the album is very theatrical-sounding and melodically rousing. Opening track “All This Noise” shows playful synths and keys over Schonert’s breezy vocal guiding. Fans of emotive female vocals aided by key-driven arrangements are likely to enjoy this release. The darker “Not Swearing” is another highlight from the album, touting an electronic-tinged vein of sophisti-pop. The album can be streamed in full on Spotify.

“Not Swearing” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.
