VEDA – “My Graveyard Grl”

/

Showing a dark rock sound with vibes reminiscent of The Cure and John Maus, “My Graveyard Grl” is a new track from goth-pop/post-punk project VEDA, fronted by multi-instrumentalist Dominic Antonio Sepúlveda. Based out of Birmingham, UK, VEDA has supported acts like Fufanu, White Fang, and Art School Girlfriend. VEDA released the Sweetheart EP this past April 1st, on Brooklyn based lo-fi pop label Birthdiy.

“My Graveyard Grl” will certainly continue the project’s ongoing momentum into the new year. The track’s first half touts a nonchalant post-punk showing in the verses, with the “her body is a graveyard,” hook playing with atmospheric appeal. The second half sees an expansion of guitar, with soaring guitar leads adding an exciting, electrified edge. A bass-heavy conclusion wraps this gem up tidily. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what VEDA churns out next.

“My Graveyard Grl” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.
