Toy Cities – “Float Away”

Releasing today from Brooklyn act Toy Cities, the track “Float Away” meshes melodic guitars and alluring synths for quality results. The track shows the duo’s shared love of post-punk and new wave especially, with the “float away,” chorus exuding moody post-punk glamour in its clanging guitars and buzzing synth backing. The synth-fronted bridge that follows is also wonderfully nostalgic. “Float Away” is a consuming success from Toy Cities, whose EP Digital Waves released today as well, and is available on all digital streaming platforms.

“Float Away” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2019’ Spotify playlist.
