F.N. – “Evergreen”

/

Blending modern R&B with modern psych-leaning pop and rock sentiments, “Evergreen” is a consuming new track from F.N.. A backing organ complements twangy guitars to start, with the guitar soon fading in favor of smooth-flowing vocals and a slight organ backing. The “because you’re all I see,” chorus brings back the delectable guitar tones from the beginning, this time with an uptick in vocal yearning alongside. Undoubtedly, “Evergreen” succeeds in its sweltering yet nocturnal R&B vibes, touting lush production alongside a melodic vocal presence and effective organ/guitar interplay.

F.N. elaborates more on the track below:

“Evergreen” describes the spark at the beginning of every relationship. It tells the story of a time I fell so hard for someone that I couldn’t think about anything else but them. When the connection was so strong that I couldn’t imagine a future without them even though we had just met.

Sonically, the song is inspired by modern R&B artists such as Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar, as well as some psychedelic influence from Tame Impala.

“Evergreen” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2019’ Spotify playlist.
