IEVA – “Sacrifice”

/

“Sacrifice” shows a dark synth-pop sound with a nocturnal soundscape and gripping vocals. The track, from Boston-based trio IEVA, sounds like something that would play at Twin Peaks‘ Roadhouse. Effervescent synth drops kick things off, with a whirring synth arp and driving snare complementing the entrancing vocal presence that soon follows. 00:48 sees the unveiling of a heavenly synth pad, aligning with a haunting melodic shift. From here, “Sacrifice” builds with a mysteriously gripping beauty. Infusing aspects of dream-pop, darkwave, and elctro-pop, “Sacrifice” is a gem from IEVA.

“Sacrifice” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Dream-Pop.
