Premiere: PARACHUTER – “Modern Day”

/

The glistening electro-pop track “Modern Day” is out today from PARACHUTER, the fifth release from Wesley Jensen’s new project, putting out monthly releases. Previously impressing in October with the track “Chemistry,” “Modern Day” presents a lusher though equally melodic feel. Moments of synth-laden effervescence mix with more spacious moments, like at 02:30. Jensen’s remain relaxed throughout, contributing with melodic charm though also letting the sparkling, catchy soundscape reveal itself fully.

“One of my all time favorite songs is “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times” from the Beach Boys’ album Pet Sounds,” PARACHUTER says. “I’ve always felt a real connection to that track and in a way I wanted to pay tribute to it. I suppose this is my modern take on that same notion of trying to navigate through life in a world that I often feel uncomfortable in. Technology is a gift and a burden, and “Modern Day” addresses that.”

“Modern Day” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2019’ Spotify playlist.
