Terra Cessna – “Apro”

/

Exuding funk-tinged vibes reminiscent of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, “Apro” is a new track from Terra Cessna. Growing up on a steady dose of Led Zeppelin, Prince, and Michael Jackson records, the UK-based artist clearly values melodic infectiousness and precise production. At its 40-second mark, “Apro” sees an ascension in vocal charisma, with lingering backing vocal effects adding to the warbled guitars and suave rhythm section. A touch of trippy synths just past the two-minute mark adds a fun psychedelic component. “Apro” is a consuming track, released as part of a 5-track EP, Trim.

The artist goes into further detail regarding the track below:

Apro is an homage to the strong females in our lives. It admits that in a society where there is pressure for men to take on aspects of Masculinity and ‘strength’, it has only ever been the case for the writer that in fact his closest female friends, family and partner are those who make the grade when it comes to emotional stability.

“Apro” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2019’ Spotify playlist.
