Baylies Band – “Librarians of Congress”

/

“Librarians of Congress” is an engaging new track from Baylies Band, based in Providence, Rhode Island. Quickly paced rhythm guitars complement a vocal presence, which remind fondly of Peter Gabriel in its punchy, melodic pull and overall tone. Spacey keys emerge at various points, serving as a key cog in building to the excellent second half, where strings add to a psych-rock-friendly ambition — especially as the scorching-hot guitars hit around 03:37. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more from Baylies Band, who produce a timeless-sounding vein of rock.

“Librarians of Congress” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.
