Dino Belli – “Suicide Pact”

/

“Suicide Pact” shows a rousing folk sound that expands with vigor. Clap-laden percussion and dramatic backing strings are among its numerous points of growth. Dino Belli’s vocals resemble a cross of Andrew Bird and Michael Stipe, generating a captivating quality that remains understated yet melodic. Andrew Bird in general is a nice stylistic reference point. The conclusion to “Suicide Pact” shows a feeling of brass-laden triumph, further reinforcing the Bird comparison. This excellent track is released alongside a captivating music video, a slow-motion animation created by Belli. “Suicide Pact” is a very impressive showing from the West Virginia-based Belli.

“Suicide Pact” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.
