Morningless – “Panda Pub”

//

Lovably reminiscent of XTC, “Panda Pub” is a delightful bouncy track from Morningless. The Swiss artist impress throughout his new album Sunrise on the Moon, with “Panda Pub” nicely indicative of his melodic sensibilities. Throughout the release, Morningless compares to several artists favorably in the pop, rock, and folk genres. A light piano and electric guitar lines guide “DJ For No One,” a starry-eyed rocker stylistically akin to the hypnotic pop of 1977’s The Beach Boys Love You. Another highlight is the twangy, more folk-centric “By My Fireplace,” reminding fondly of Camera Obscura’s acoustical hypnotics. “Panda Pub” — along with these two — are great starting points to Morningless’ satisfying sound.
