Remington Super 60 – “I Don’t Wanna Wait”

/

“I Don’t Wanna Wait” shows a lush, hypnotic pop sound with a dreamy allure. The track comes from Remington Super 60’s new EP, released today. The Norwegian band have released several albums and EPs since forming in late 1998, presently releasing material (like this new EP) on their own label, Cafe Superstar Recordings. Influences such as Stereolab and Yo La Tengo are enjoyably audibly apparent throughout this EP.

“I Don’t Wanna Wait” finds serene vocals and an aquatic-sounding key glistening weaving around smatterings of guitars, leading into a very pleasant “I don’t wanna wait for you,” hook. The vocals assume an ethereal, wordless form just after the two-minute mark, making for an entrancingly dreamy section. “I Don’t Wanna Wait” is one of several highlights on this EP, with some other highlights including the hypnotic slow-burner “Dreaming of Summer” and bouncier opener “The Highway Again.”
