Riarosa – “Change”

/

“Change” is a serene, melodic slice of dream-pop from Riarosa, a band from Baton Rouge, LA. The band notes that the track “promotes a positive change in one’s mindset after going through difficult times.” As such, it’s a fitting track for the month of January, in helping to associate the new year with positive vibes, regardless of the past year’s trials. The track’s enduring “we’ll be okay,” hook combines the soaring vocals of Maria Rosa Gough with bursting guitars, aesthetically retaining a dream-pop spirit with the jangling guitar tones. “Change” is a supremely accessible success from Riarosa.

“Change” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Dream-Pop.
