Juliper Sky – “Reflections of the Winter Sun”

/

Following a busy January tour schedule, Juliper Sky kick-starts February with the soaring, hypnotic rocker “Reflections of the Winter Sun.” Leading with themes of escapism, the track plays on serenely melodic vocals and twangy guitars. Hailing from Manchester, UK, Juliper Sky showcase a shimmering sound steeped in aspects of dream-pop, shoegaze, and psych-rock. “Reflections of the Winter Sun” is a testament to the cohesive implementation of each style, with psych-rock guitar tones (like the stirring lead at 03:30) accompanying a serene dream-pop vocal delivery.

The track marks the final release from the band’s upcoming four-track EP, releasing in April and produced by James Kenosha (Rhodes, Dry The River, Dinosaur Pile Up). The band take pride in “having all the individual components recorded either in a local Manchester studio (VIBE) or in their home studios.”

“Reflections of the Winter Sun” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
