Quist – “Dreamers”

/

“Dreamers” is a newly released track from Quist, the project of Jacob Quistgaard. Bryan Ferry fans know Quistgaard as the artist’s touring guitarist, also featuring on Ferry’s 2014 album Avonmore. To add to that, Quistgaard’s Quist project is approaching 100 million views on YouTube, thanks to quality content that ranges from instrumental originals and blues jams to jazz backing tracks and guitar remixes. Both a successful session musician and producing original content on his own, Quistgaard’s continued success is impressive.

“Dreamers” is the newest output from Quist, described as a “dreamy piece of lo-fi hip-hop.” Speaking about the track, Quist says: “I wanted to capture the melancholy associated with loving someone you can’t seem to actually make it work with.” Tender guitar twangs start with a retrospective tone, as slight piano and hypnotic hip-hop percussion adds nicely. “Dreamers” is nicely representative of the atmospheric sounds that Quistgaard has proven very adept at capturing.

“Dreamers” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.
