Mazlyn – “Confessed”

//

“Confessed” is a stirring track from Mazlyn, a singer/songwriter and producer based out of the Suffolk coast (UK). The elongated, contemplative vocal tone fondly recalls Thom Yorke in the verses, before asserting a more grunge-friendly fervor in the chorus. Here, distorted guitars and an impassioned vocal elongation separates distinctively from the verses. The track’s growth is seamless and captivating, from acoustical beginnings into sections relishing in nostalgic-sounding guitar distortion and passionate vocals. Noted influences like Big Thief, Elliott Smith, and REM certainly come through.

“Confessed” is the first of three singles to be released over this spring from Mazlyn.

“Confessed” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
