Sleepy Soul – “Hazy”

//

The final single from Sleepy Soul’s forthcoming debut EP, “Hazy” rides on a spacey pop feel. A wordless croon glides with understated backing guitars and sonar-like synth presence, building to a peppier vocal entry with jangly guitars as the one-minute mark approaches. The initial wordless vocals are sturdy throughout as a pleasant melodic backbone. Another notable section arrive around 03:10, with the undercurrent of guitars assuming a pluckier sort of prominence. Hypnotic and memorably catchy, “Hazy” is a surefire success from Sleepy Soul, who describes the track as “about the conscious choice to be who you want to be despite external pressures. It’s about feeling confident in your own skin to jump around and dance, even if you suck at it.”

“Hazy” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
