The Snuggalos – “Lost in the Crowd”

/

“Lost in the Crowd” is a creative, catchy success from The Snuggalos, the project of Daniel and Morla Mccarthy. “Our songs are catchy with a hint of being abducted by aliens kinda weird,” the married couple says. “Lost in the Crowd” certainly achieves that type of feeling. Light, bouncy xylophone/keys complement dreamy vocals with a hypnotic allure. The sound effects around 02:50 are very much in the alien-abduction vein, too. Overall, the “somewhere, somehow,” vocal hook plays as the melodically magnetic centerpiece of this satisfying track.

“Lost in the Crowd” is among numerous highlights on the duo’s fourth album, Seasonal Depression. Also recommend is shoegaze-friendly gem “Seasons of Me,” featured in our dream-pop/shoegaze playlist.

“Lost in the Crowd” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.
