“Flat Footed” is a new track from Zhund, a Montréal-based music producer. Following two atmospheric EPs in 2017s Miami Odyssey and 2019’s Dusty, Zhund continues the latter’s lo-fi charm with “Flat Footed.” Twinkling keys and exotic woodwinds carry the track’s lushly hypnotic glow. Caressing waves of sound complement understated vocals, which maintain a safe distance from dominating the mix. Touting a background fit for a lo-fi hip-hop playlist, though with a vocal-laden pull suitable for pop-minded moments, “Flat Footed” succeeds with easily enjoyable pleasantries.
