“Soupçon Salissant/Lines” is a newly released track from Cory José, a Chicago-based artist with a striking sound. A grooving bass-laden vibrancy and nonchalant vocals make for an interesting aesthetic, one that reminds of early Pulp — especially in regard to the bustling bass, theatrical vocals, and dark dashes of strings. A consuming vocal passion builds past the three-minute mark with delight, adding to the hypnotic grip. “Soupçon Salissant/Lines” is a stylistically intriguing success from Cory José.
