hhhhhh – “forever”

//

The lushly swaying “forever” is a hazy success from hhhhhh, the project of Los Angeles-based artist Hector Guerra. The vibe fondly reminds me of Christopher Owens’ project Girls. A reverberating, surf-y guitar twang complements vocals that project a forlorn yet melodic quality. Certainly, there’s a bit of Brian Wilson there as well, especially with the touch of keys/synths at the 45-second mark. The “I love you forever,” chorus resonates past the track’s conclusion. “forever” is a solid showing from hhhhhh.

“forever” comes via the new album Tropical Depression, streaming in full below:

“forever” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Spotify playlist.
