Silicon Sibling – “The Avenue”

/

“The Avenue” is the memorable debut release from Silicon Sibling, an act from Cork, Ireland comprised of brothers Brian and Evin O’Reilly. Aesthetically, the track sports a fun hybrid of psych-pop and power-pop. Guitar/synth interplay throughout is enjoyably melodic, with a vocal presence fondly reminiscent of David Byrne during the “I will drive through the avenue,” hook. Another notable section is the “lost in the summer days,” bridge — touting a lovely, shimmering psych-pop energy that hypnotizes. The band note the track is “inspired by golden childhood memories where adventure was their religion.” “The Avenue” is certainly a stellar start for this talented duo.

“The Avenue” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Soundcloud playlist.
