Indigo Waves – “Virtual Vacation”

//

First catching my ear with the track “Thanks” last summer, Utah-based act Indigo Waves return with another dose of atmospheric, melodic dream-pop goodness. Per the band, “Virtual Vacation” takes inspiration from “the tropical beach green screen effect on zoom.” Evolving quickly from slow-burning chillwave-friendly beginnings into synth-laden pop with vocal yearning, “Virtual Vacation” sports soulful vocals and a consuming hook; the “where’s the time go?” vocal refrain plays with hypnotic, hooky allure. “Virtual Vacation” drips with late-night, soulful vibes and satisfaction.

“Virtual Vacation” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
