STACEY – “Far Away”

/

“Far Away” is a consuming display of dreamy pop, courtesy of Toronto-based singer/songwriter STACEY. The artist’s vocals exude a timeless quality in their authentic emotive pull, especially when set against the chorus’ glistening key-laden accompaniment and backing vocal layering. Another gorgeous moment comes with spoken-word lushness and harp-like glistening past the two-minute mark. “Far Away” is a drawing, elegant track from start to finish.

“‘Far Away’ is a dream escape from the vast darkness and sadness of the world,” the artist explains. “I wanted to provide the listener with whatever comfort and understanding I could — and a break from reality. While it feels very strange to release music at this time, it also feels like the right time to send out offerings of healing.”

This is the first track from STACEY’s upcoming debut full-length album, Saturn Return, out this fall. The release follows up STACEY’s 2017 sophomore EP First Move.

“Far Away” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
