Von Thrasher – “Heathens”

“Heathens” is a track released today from Von Thrasher, off the Minimal Soul EP, also out today. A sparser guitar-fronted beginning expands with fluttering allure past the 30-second mark. The rhythm section’s emergence coincides with reflective vocal harmonies that tug at the heart, with vocal harmonizing producing a nostalgic doo-wop quality that plays successfully. “Heathens” shows seamless structural evolution and a nostalgic, melodic pull that’s continuous throughout. The rest of the EP is recommended, as well.

“Heathens” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.
