Avery Davis – “Beachland”

//

The opening track on Avery Davis‘ new EP It All Comes Back, “Beachland” touts an enamoring sound. Caressing acoustics in the verses remind fondly of Damien Jurado, while a shimmering escalation in the chorus makes for a replay-inducing moment. This breezy success navigates seamlessly from verse to chorus despite their tonal contrasts. Per Davis, the track is “about the pains of living on tour.” The album shows a variety of strong songwriting with overlapping rock, folk, and pop styles.
