Bad Mime – “Do You Love Your Man?”

//

The first of several releases in the coming months from Bad Mime, the solo project of drummer/programmer Zach Simao, “Do You Love Your Man?” succeeds with a late-night, reflective charm. Forlorn vocals, subtle guitar twangs, and bouncy synths assemble a consuming stylistic pull, parts Junior Boys and parts The Radio Dept., enjoyably so. The artist describes the track as “a summertime slow jam inspired by a conversation with my girlfriend about star-crossed lovers and her celebrity crush.” “Do You Love Your Man?” has me anticipating the upcoming releases from Bad Mine, for sure.

“Do You Love Your Man?” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2020’ Spotify playlist.
