Oliver Knives – “Monks Possessions”

/

“Monks Possessions” is a newly released track from Los Angeles-based Oliver Knives, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and recording artist. Navigating on a hypnotic yet bouncy key-laden backbone, “Monks Possessions” sees an injection of spacey frequencies around the 50-second mark. The vocals maintain a playful, perky demeanor throughout, taking a pause during an enjoyable bass/synth bridge rounding the two-minute mark. Oliver Knives’ second release is certainly one that impresses with its playful, catchy charm.

The artist writes: “This is a record about a girl who struggles with the inner turmoils of an increasingly oppressive society. Perhaps it is only her who can come to terms with the fact that this society may be a world in which ghosts exist.”

“Monks Possessions” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2020’ Spotify playlist.
