Premiere: Barry Carroll – “Faye”

/

“Faye” is a lovely track out today from Barry Carroll, led by a hypnotic convergence of emotive vocals, folk-laden guitars, and luxurious strings. The singer/songwriter, originally from Kentucky, presently resides in Northeast Ohio. “This started out as a more classical sounding song and ended up quite psychedelic,” Carroll says. The classical elements appear in the string accompaniments and lush guitars, with a structural psych-friendly glow that features a particularly soaring second half, during the “Faye, won’t you stay,” hook. It’s a pleasure to premiere this serenely melodic success.

“Faye” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2020’ Spotify playlist.
