Adult Prom – “We”

The serenely hypnotic “We” comes via Adult Prom, a Salt Lake City-based project formed in 2018 by Russ Allphin. Calming vocals and mellow guitars build gradually, with the “oh man,” vocal cue followed by jangly guitar additions. Atmospheric synths follow shortly thereafter, nudging gently. “We” is full of subtle, atmospheric beauty throughout. Adult Prom is definitely a project on my radar, especially with an upcoming album slated to release this fall.

“We” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
