Griffin Robillard – “V.G.S.O.H. (Sadie’s Song)”

//

Irresistibly catchy with a suave charm fondly reminiscent of Pulp, “V.G.S.O.H. (Sadie’s Song)” is a new track from Griffin Robillard. Scene-setting verses feature wry vocals and click-clacking percussion, shifting into a guitar-laden shimmer as the chorus approaches. As the danceable, wholly contagious chorus arrives after the one-minute mark, Robillard’s assume a more anthemic, debaucherous vocal tone that aptly fits the more present guitar work. “V.G.S.O.H. (Sadie’s Song)” is heaps of fun to listen, comparing favorably to one of my favorite tracks, Pulp’s “Razzmatazz.”

“V.G.S.O.H. (Sadie’s Song)” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
