I Care About You – “Science”

/

Playing with emotive, throwback appeal, “Science” is a recent track from I Care About You. The project released an EP last year, Scared, that saw ample success with single “She Wouldn’t Say.” A collaboration with NY-based band Rebounder, “Swim Zone Remix,” also saw success. I Care About You features the vocals of previously featured Gabe Greenland, again touting a gripping and unique vocal presence. Adolescent nostalgia, and the yearning that comes with it, is effectively captured amidst the vocals and mellow guitar tones.

I Care About You elaborate more on the track below:

“Science is at heart an early 2000s throwback tune. In the aesthetic lineage of Blink-182, Science is nostalgic for a time in which we no longer exist; a hazy memory of adolescence. The end of summer is a recent memory. The leaves are changing and the days are gradually getting shorter. Science is about when Nintendo GameCube graphics were state of the art and low stakes romances felt like the most important thing in the world. Science is about remembering fun we’ve already had. Science is a treasured memento of the youth we spent.”

“Science” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2020’ Spotify playlist.
