Showing a dreamy vein of synth-laden rock that builds into a blissful chorus, “Back Home Old Buddy” is a newly released track from Butter Bath, the Sydney-based project of Toby Anagnostis. Jangly guitars and debonair vocals in the verses glide quickly into an effervescent chorus, where the vocals heighten in pitch amidst synth-based pulsations. A delightful bridge at 02:17 shows a yearning, emotively captivating feel, with twinkling guitars accompanying a more downcast vocal feeling. With a captivating melody and just the right amount of structural variation, Butter Bath’s “Back Home Old Buddy” consumes.

Per the artist: “‘Back Home Old Buddy’ was inspired by a collection of stories told to me by friends living with intellectual disability about the significance of relationship with family.”
