Hollow Comet – “Val Kilmer”

“Val Kilmer” rides on a nocturnal, contemplative soundscape — immersing listeners with a hypnotic, subdued vocal lead and steadily expansive structure. Philadelphia-based producer/musician Hollow Comet grows the track from retrospective, murky nonchalance into a final section that touts prickly key/synth-laden adornments and enjoyably choppy percussion (01:52) amidst heavenly backing vocal effects. A dreamy, immersive gem with alternative and trip-hop influence, “Val Kilmer” is a consuming entry from Hollow Comet.

“Val Kilmer” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.
