Mimile – “Wouldn’t It Be Nice (To Meet Some People)”

/

“Wouldn’t It Be Nice (To Meet Some People)” is a new track from Mimile, the project of Emilie Blom. A suavely entrancing bass line and slight guitars accompany rising vocals to start, with the title-referencing hook emerging amidst fun, classic-rock guitar ones and anthemic vocals. Showing a spirited vocal lead throughout that rises aptly alongside an evolving structure, the track takes a captivating, anthemic turn past the two-minute mark. “Oh, let the spirit out,” reflective vocals soar, converging toward a blissfully melodic iteration of the hooky refrain. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice (To Meet Some People)” is a stellar output from Mimile.

The Amsterdam-born Emilie Blom joined Dutch rock band The Scene in 1987, as bassist and backing vocalist. The Scene disbanded upon the tragic death of frontman Thé Lau in 2015. Thereafter, Blom ]embarked on a solo career under the Mimile monker, releasing a debut album in 2015 on the MimileMusic label. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice (To Meet Some People)” represents Mimile’s most recent release.
