Leah Rye – “Agrypnia”

/

Leah Rye‘s new track “Agrypnia” impresses with an entrancing sound, strutting a soulfully mysterious tone somewhere between ballad and pop anthem. Coming from Rye’s forthcoming EP Elusive, out next year, “Agrypnia” deftly balances an intimate piano-laden arsenal with atmospheric electronic tones with spy-film mystique. Simply put, the “world is on fire,” chorus sends chills. Gradual nocturnal synth tones emerge alongside the escalating vocals, then accompanied by the initial ghostly piano tone. The mood and central hook on “Agrypnia” are difficult to resist.

“Agrypnia” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
