Sean James – “Morningstar”

//

Developing from intimate acoustics into a vibrant string-laden pull, “Morningstar” is a tender and engrossing folk track from Sean James, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter who impressed with “Comete” last month. James’ vocals exude a calming charm, reminiscent here of The Clientele. Mellow, frolicking acoustics accompany to start, with a bright melodic escalation just prior to the one-minute mark. A string-forward presence lingers in the second half, amidst tender acoustics and emotive vocals, which make for an engaging, beautiful feeling that captivates. “Morningstar” is another success from Sean James.

“Morningstar” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Folk.
