Bang Bang Jet Away – “When I Said I Loved You”

/

A confident rocker with no regrets, “When I Said I Loved You” is a track from Bang Bang Jet Away, off their Dzzs Bar album. The San Diego-based duo of Matt Binder and Mike Kamoo (of The Stereotypes) make a strong impression throughout. Aesthetically, on “When I Said I Loved You,” I’m reminded of Spencer Krug (Sunset Rubdown, Wolf Parade); the vocals let out an excitable quiver amidst melodic guitar clanging, sporting a fond resemblance. Hooky with a ceaselessly melodic energy, “When I Said I Loved You” is a winner from Bang Bang Jet Away.

Regarding the track, the artist says: “Thinking that I didn’t want to do a long-distance relationship, I broke up with my girlfriend when I moved two thousand miles away. Then I spent a year trying to win her back. This song was a part of my failed effort.”

“When I Said I Loved You” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2020’ Spotify playlist.
