Hard Working Boss – “I Love My Phone”

Aesthetically reminding fondly of The Divine Comedy and Momus, with a pulsing bedroom-pop charm and synthesized glow, “I Love My Phone” is a clever delight from Hard Working Boss. “Oh, does this country have wi-fi?” the artist asks, soon thereafter letting out, “I love my phone.” The “creatures of the light,” section with ensuing synths, past the two-minute mark, leads into another bouncy hook. Showing a fun, pulsing quality throughout, “I Love My Phone” finds ample success.

Hard Working Boss describes the track as “about being addicted to telephones, the conflict between carrying on scrolling or throwing the phone against the wall.”

“I Love My Phone” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Soundcloud playlist.
