Scotty Malcolm – “Mirror Man”

//

“Mirror Man” is a fun track from Scotty Malcolm, a Houston-based artist. The topic of vanity is explored amidst peppy, garage-friendly guitars and wordless backing vocal enthusiasm. The track’s inspiration, whoever that is, should really be nicer to their mother, and everyone else, too. The track itself falls under two minutes yet manages to make a strong melodic impression. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more from Scotty, who started recording songs in 2018, enjoys laying under trees, and whose favorite color is green.

“I knew someone who was kinda obsessed with themselves and thought they were bigger and more important than everyone else,” Scotty writes. “They were mean to me so I decided to make a song about it.”

“Mirror Man” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2021’ Spotify playlist.
