Paul Maged – “Culture War”

“Culture War” is another charismatic rocker from NYC-based singer/songwriter Paul Maged, continuing wit-filled social commentary evident on prior tracks like “The Resistance” and “Fight to the Death.” “Culture War” comes from Maged’s recent album of the same name. The album’s opener is an apt showcase of Mage’s sound. A chugging, heavy rock sound with hints of ’80s hair-rock is evident, prior to some catching twists in the second half. In particular, the “what goes around comes around,” breakdown tempers the pace in enjoyable fashion before accelerating into the rock-forward initial frenzy.

Viewable above, the track’s video is a 3D animated piece produced by MY3D that Maged wrote the concept for.

“Culture War” and other memorable tracks from October can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2020’ Spotify playlist.
