Tasty Tuesday – “Turquoise”

/

Happy Tuesday! London-based duo Tasty Tuesday send similar sentiments with the track “Turquoise,” a cleverly produced pop track with ample hookiness, reminding of The 1975. Federico Sidero and Sour Sync effectively convey good vibes with replay-inducing effect. The turquoise-referencing hook propels forward with bursting synths, snappy percussion, and contagious vocal charm. The verses around 01:20 remind favorably of Hot Chip, as well. The guitar-forward bridge a minute later is also catching, scaling percussion back prior to its enjoyable re-introduction. “Turquoise” will get you moving.

The duo says: “We wanted to write a track that really captures them feel-good butterflies, music that makes you feel the same way you do when you’re in that kind of love- all the good shit and none of the bad.”

“Turquoise” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
