The Palava – “He Fell At The First Hurdle”

/

“He Fell At The First Hurdle” is the latest track from The Palava, a five-piece based in York (UK). The initial verses conjure a sort of British rock nostalgia — parts The Libertines and Arctic Monkeys. The “call me on your phone,” hook plays alongside trickling guitars and elongated vocals for a wholly melodic effect, blasting back into the verses’ rock-forward suaveness. This hook’s final entry is capped off by a delectable guitar emphasis, playing free-flowing melodic pleasantries into the conclusion. “He Fell At The First Hurdle” shows very well from The Palava.

Look for another single in April from The Palava. Their debut single “Paved With Gold” has achieved national radio play across the UK.

“He Fell At The First Hurdle” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2021’ Spotify playlist.
