Jordan Burchel – “Every Ocean”

“Every Ocean” is a hooky rocker from Jordan Burchel, the artist’s third single release so far this year. Bursting guitars and playful synth tones kickstart a bustling intro, the suave vocals driving to bouncy bass-driven charm during the “you are wasting time,” line. The chorus — “with every ocean rising, every spirit sinking,” — exudes a poignant feeling of mounting anxiety in a world full of strife. “I’m just a little bit blue,” Burchel punctuates the chorus with. The bass-hopping verses and replay-inducing chorus are replay-enticing in their own rights, with the whole of “Every Ocean” being a striking success from the artist.

Burchel’s latest, “Empty House,” released today as well. Streaming below:

“Every Ocean” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
