Joshua Woo – “Future Tripping”

/

The debut single from London-based artist Joshua Woo, “Future Tripping” is a consuming success. Described as “an anxiety ballad for fellow overthinkers,” the opening lyrics “here I am, I’m on the precipice,” suggest as such — meshing enjoyably with an evolving array of keys and guitars thereafter, in addition to haunting backing vocal croons. The three-minute mark sees the vocals rising amidst a key-laden flickering, riding cohesively back into the mellow, forlorn feel of the initial verses — giving off vibes reminiscent of Radiohead. “Future Tripping” is a great entry from Joshua Woo.

“Future Tripping” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.
